On the evaluations of sum of squares by using the range III 妻鳥, 敏彦 メンドリ, トシヒコ Mendori, Toshihiko 神野, 義久 ジンノ, ヨシヒサ Zinno, Yoshihisa 深石, 博夫 フカイシ, ヒロオ Fukaishi, Hiroo open access 414 The sum of squares (briefly, s.s.) of the data plays an important role in statistics, but the calculation of the s.s. is more complicated than that of the data range. From this respect a number of research on statistical approximation of the s.s. by using the range has been done. But we have extended the study of the mathematical handling for the g.l.b. and the l.u.b. of the s.s. in the in the case of variously constructed homogeneous data. In this paper we shall give the g.l.b. and the l.u.b. of the s.s. for a stratified data set by using the range.
