| 内容記述 | Habitats of cave bats were studied in winter at four tunnels near the Mannouike pond, Mannou town, Nakatado district, Kagawa prefecture, Shikoku, Japan, 1996-2002. Four tunnels which are typical in Kagawa prefecture were classified into two types by the structure; one was made by concrete with both side entrances; and the other one was made by rocks with only one side entrance. In the former tunnels, only Myotis macrodactylus inhabited, whereas in the latter tunnels, Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, R. cornutus, Miniopterus fuliginosus and Myotis macrodactylus inhabited. It was considered that the preference for tunnels in winter, suggesting a hibernate season, cave bats select the tunnel where there are optimal air temperature and stream of the wind. In Kagawa prefecture, R. ferrumequinum, R. cornutus and Miniopterus fuliginosus were difficult to hibernate, because these species choose tunnels that have large roots with optimal air temperature in winter. However, Myotis macrodactylus can hibernate in the tunnels that have many cracks on the walls separately. | |||||||||||||||||
