These islands are distributed in the Seto Inland Sea. Among 10 females, four ones were pregnant with four to ten embryos in their uterus collected in June, September, October, and November. Among 15 males, eight ones had sexually active testes collected in September, December, January and February. There has been no information of the nutria on the breeding or the living on these islands and/or Shikoku. The nutria has been killed more than 1500 individuals as harmful animals since 1998 in Okayama Prefecture.
