| 内容記述 | The Chestnut Tiger（Parantica sita）is a species of butterfly that is classified in the subfamily Danainae of the family Nymphalidae. It is a relatively large butterfly, with an open tail of about 10 cm, and is known for its long-distance ‘migration’. In April 2022, the authors set up a flower bed of about 8.5 m² in a park in Mineyama-cho, Takamatsu City, and planted about 60 seedlings of fragrant eupatorium（Eupatorium japonicum）.This plant is considered to have high induction potential. The aim was to attract Chestnut Tigers. In October of the same year, a total of approximately a dozen Chestnut Tigers were observed on fragrant eupatorium in full bloom. Previous records and confirmations in the city are also presented, as they may contribute to understanding the prosperity and decline of this species. | |||||||||||||||||||||
