Therefore, the degree of rock weathering is important to land reclamation, especially practical construction. In spite of above mentioned importance, traditionally the degree of weathering was mostly expressed empirically, and so in this paper we tried to express it more numerically for practical use. Comparing the methods of Schmidt hammer, N value, Proctor needle, gamma ray and elastic wave with each other, following results are achieved. 1. When there are no economical restrictions, the method of elastic wave is superior than any other methods. 2. Schmidt hammer methods is effective to relatively less weathered rock, therefore it seems more profittable to combine it with N value or Proctor needle method. 3.
