| 内容記述 | In order to investigate the significance of the ceca of chickens in the growth and egg production, the present study was carried out using cecectomized or cecal ligated cockerels and pullets of single comb White Leghorn, and the following results were obtained. 1) The rate of growth was slightly slower in cecectomized or cecal ligated cockerels than in non-operated cockerels till 17-week-old, and thereafter the growth of both groups was almost similar till 20 weeks of age. The significant differences of feed intake and feed efficiency were not observed among the groups of cockerels during the entire experimental period of 20 weeks. 2) The growth of cockerels severed thececal main vessels or neurectomized of ceca was almost similar to that of nonoperated cockerels, and there were no differences in feed intake and feed efficiency among the groups during the entire experimental period of 17 weeks of age. 3) The 5-months-old pullets of single comb White Leghorn were ligated of ceca, and were fed a conventional diet for 252 days in windowless light controlled poultry house. As a result, the egg production, feed intake and feed efficiency in the cecal ligated pullets were almost the same as that in non-operated pullets during the entire experimental period of 252 days. | |||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | 鶏の盲腸が雛の成長ならびに産卵に果す役割を調べる目的で次の実験を行った. 成長については孵化時期の異なる6週齢の単冠白色レグホーン種の雄を用い, 盲腸の手術方法をかえて実験した. 1) 盲腸の右側結紮, 両側結紮, 両側切断を行い, 20週齢まで飼育した結果, 初期成長は擬似手術を行った対照区の方が早かったが, 17週齢にはどの区も同程度の体重となり, 試験期間を通じ飼料摂取量, 飼料効率には盲腸手術による差は認められなかった. 2) 盲腸に通じる血管および神経の切断, 神経のみの切断, 盲腸の切除, 結紮手術を行って17週齢まで飼育した結果, 試験開始時より対照区との間にはいずれの区も成長, 飼料摂取量, 飼料効率に差は認められなかった. 3) 孵化後5ヵ月齢の単冠白色レグホーン種雄の盲腸を結紮し, ウインドレス鶏舎内で252日間産卵率, 卵重, 飼料摂取量, 飼料効率について調査した結果, 盲腸結紮による影響は認められなかった. | |||||||||||||
