Results were as follows: 1. Cuttings were made in March, June and September every year. Hardwood cuttings treated with NAA at 0, 25 and 50 ppm in March resulted in no increase in the rate of rooting. Softwood cuttings in June or semi-softwood cutting in September under intermittent mist, showed also the same result. 2. Hardwood cuttings stored in moist vermiculite outdoors in the fall showed no increase in the rate of rooting, even if they had been treated with NAA previous to the storage. 3. Ultra-softwood cuttings from forced stock plants in the plastic house were planted in the polyethylene-closed bench with bottom heat on March 22, 1976. The result showed that the cuttings except heel cuttings rooted fast and vigorously.
