Their water area amounted to 124.2 × 10 4㎡ during the 14 fiscal years from 1962 to 1975. The disused irrigation reservoirs varied from 313 ㎡ to 10.05 × 10 4㎡ in their water area. The smaller irrigation reservoirs (less than 2 × 10 4㎡ in their water area) occupied 69.4 per cent of the total number of dusused irrigation reservoirs. The land reclaimed from the disused irrigation reservoirs was used for other purposes such as factory sites, housing sites, school sites, highway sites, railroad sites, etc. Most of the land reclaimed, 31.9 per cent of the total area of the land, was used for school sites. It amounted to 39.7 × 10 4㎡. 18.1 per cent of the total reclaimed land (22.5 × 10 4㎡) was used for housing sites. The land used factories amounted to 11.5 × 10 4㎡ in the two fiscal years of 1962 and 1963. No land, however, has been used for factories since 1963. The land reclaimed and used for highway sites and railroad sites amounted to 6.8 × 10 4㎡.
