Nitrogen in nutrient solutions was adjusted 6 levels from 0 to 160 ppm with ammonium sulfate while phosphoric acid and potassium were maintained in 40 ppm. 1. Twenty to 40 ppm of nitrogen application resulted in higher tree growth and fruit yield as compared with the other treatments. Nitrogen contents of spring leaves showed a yearly decrease. 2. The absorbed amounts of nitrogen of leaf, shoot, trunk, large root and fine root increased in proportion to the concentration in the nutrient solution. The amounts of P, K, Ca and Mg were most influenced by the amounts of tree growth, and those were the highest at the concentration of 20 or 40 ppm. 3.
