| 内容記述 | In this study, the effect of fermented brown rice (FBR) on glycemic control was examined in streptozotocininduced type I diabetic rats. The diabetic model rats were classified into type I diabetes control group (DMC) and type I diabetes experimental group (DMF). DMC were given an extra 2.5% of normal brown rice in feeds, and DMF were given an extra 2.5% of FBR in feeds. The rats underwent an oral glucose tolerance test with the 2 g/kg BW glucose after 4 weeks of breeding. As a result, the fasting blood sugar level of DMF was significantly higher than control group (NDM) which was a normal rat. However, the fasting plasma glucose of DMF was significantly lower than DMC though blood insulin levels were low conspicuously in the same way as DMC. In addition, the glycogen quantity of liver and the muscle of DMF significantly higher than DMC, but there was no difference with NDM. These results suggested that the intake of the FBR contributed to control of the blood sugar level separately from action of insulin. | |||||||||||||||||
