| 内容記述 | The problems which I try to solve in this article are why the opposition between vocational and general education has arisen and what is the cause of that opposition. In the first place, I inquire into the important opinions concerning to the definition of vocational education, such as Struck, Prosser and Quigley, Takao Ando, and the Report of the Harvard Committee. The purpose of these inquiries is to clarify how they grasped the above mentioned problems. As the result of these inquiries, I get the two conclusions. The first of them, is that the opposition between general and vocational education is historically based on the opposition between liberal and vocational education in ancient Greece. The second, the opposition between vocational and general education in present age is ascribable to the opposition between special and vocational education. Based on the first conclusion, I attempt at the historical inquiry into the opposition between the liberal and vocational education, and thereby I find that the cause of opposition between liberal and vocational education is the opposition of social classes in slave-owing society. Therefore, my important problem comes to the question whether the present opposition also is caused by the social classes or not. Judging from the point of subject in education, the fact that the social classes still exist in present age becomes clear. But the problem of specialism in present society remains unsolved in this article. | |||||||||||
