| 内容記述 | Abe et al. (1996) collected small mammals from Sakhalin, USSR, in 1994 and 1995, in which Apodemus peninsulae and Myodes rufocanus were reported. The specimens except for Rattus norvegicus and shrews captured by Abe et al. (1996) have been housed in the Museum attached to the Botanic Garden, Field Center of the Northern Biosphere of the Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. I investigated eight specimens of Myodes rufocanus collected by them, but one specimen (HUNHM56016) was reidentified as Myodes rex, which is a rare specimen housed in offi cial museums in Japan. I preliminary compared the specimen from Sakhalin with those of Myodes rex collected from Rishiri Is., Mt. Petegari and Teshio Town in Hokkaido by ratio diagram (Simpson, 1941). As a result, the nasal length (NL) and molar width between both sides (MW) differed between both sexes of mature specimens collected from Rishiri Island, and the male reidentified specimen from Sakhalin did not differ from male sexual mature specimens of Rishiri Island in absolute and relative sizes, and geographical differences were smaller in males than in females. | |||||||||||
