| 内容記述 | SUMMARY Effects of topography on winds have been investigated for winds over an island. When the winter monsoon occurs and the westerly wind blows over the Seto Inland Sea district, a strong wind occurs not at the windward (west) side of the island of Megi-jima but at the leeward (east) side. The wind lashing the east side is known locally as the ʻOtoshiʼ. The Otoshi is a strong southerly wind with a spray of seawater, by using the numerical model, three-dimensional airflow over the island has been investigated. The strong wind area at the leeward side of Megi-jima is reproduced by the numerical calculation. |
